Happy New Year!

Well, that holiday season went fast! First, we were on Christmas break, and now it's time to start thinking about getting started with the new year! Have you made your resolutions, thought about your intentions, or determined your goals for 2019? By next Christmas, I will have finished my Master of Music in Music Education, a goal I've been chipping away at for a very long time! The road has been long, but the finish line is in sight and the prize is so worth it!
Lessons will start right off the bat on January 2nd. Please note, students who are usually scheduled on Tuesday will have their first lesson on Thursday, January 3rd. After that, it's business as usual.
Syllabus fees will be added to your February invoice. Please note that if for any reason your student does not participate in Syllabus (Friday, March 15), the fee is non-refundable. This fee covers a full-length evaluation by a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music plus a significant amount of time for coaching and instruction outside of a normal lesson. Additionally, each student will receive written notes and a beautiful certificate, suitable for framing. Completion of the Syllabus program, for which Oregon is nationally recognized, will put your student in good stead to continue their studies at the collegiate level and is evidence of growing discipline and musical accomplishment.
Whatever 2019 holds for you, I wish you the very best! There will be joy and there will be
, but isn't amazing how resilient we are? So here's to growth and victory and increased blessing and happiness for all of us.
I found a surprisingly appropriate poem, written in 1921 by William Carlos Williams:
Again I reply to the triple winds
running chromatic fifths of derision
outside my window:
You will not succeed. I am
bound more to my sentences
the more you batter at me
to follow you.
And the wind,
as before, fingers perfectly
